Proverbs, The way of encouraging GODLY LIVING

February 22, 2021

Reverence, Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control; against such things there is no law.
May the Lord Jesus glorify your work for Him, that what you do will bring peace and joy to your heart and soul.

Proverbs, The way of encouraging Godly living.

Chapter 15:1-33
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable, but the mouth of fools spouts folly. The eyes of the Lord are in every place, watching the evil and the good. A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but perversion in it crushes the spirit. A fool rejects his fathers discipline, but he who regards reproof is prudent. Much wealth is in the house of the righteous, but trouble is in the income of the wicked. The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but the hearts of fools are not so. The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is His delight. The way of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but He loves him who pursues righteousness. Stern discipline is for him who forsakes the way; he who hates reproof will die. Sheol and abaddon lie open before the Lord, how much more are the hearts of men! A scoffer does not love one who reproves, he will not go to the wise. A joyful heart makes a cheerful face, but when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken. The mind of the intelligent seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on folly. All the days if the afflicted are bad, but a cheerful heart has a continual feast. Better is a little with fear of the Lord, than great treasure and turmoil with it. Better is a dish of vegetables where love is, than a fattened ox and hatred with it. A hot tempered man stirs up strife, but the slow to anger pacifies contention. The way of the sluggard is as a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a highway. A wise son makes a father glad, but a foolish man despises his mother, Folly is joy to him who lacks sense, but a man of understanding walks straight. Without consultation, plans are frustrated, but with many counselors they succeed. A man has joy in an apt answer, and how delightful is a timely word! The path of life leads upward for the wise, that they may keep away from Shoel below. The Lord will tear down the house of the proud, but He will establish the boundary of the widow. Evil plans are an abomination to the Lord, but pleasant words are pure. He who profits illicitly troubles his own house, but he who hates bribes will live. The heart of the righteousness ponders how to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things. The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. Bright eyes gladden the heart, good news puts fat on the bones. He whose ear listens to the life-giving reproof will dwell among the wise. He who neglects discipline despises himself, but he who listens to reproof acquires understanding. The fear of the Lord is the instruction for wisdom, and before honor comes humility.

Chapter 16:1-33

The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight, but the Lord weighs the motives. Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established. The Lord has made everything for its own purpose, even the wicked for the day of evil. Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord, assuredly; he will not be punished. By lovingkindness and truth iniquity is atoned for, and by the fear of the Lord one keeps away from evil. When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him. Better is a little with righteousness, than great income with injustice. The mind of man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. A divine decision is in the lips of the king, his mouth should not err in judgment. A just balance and scales belong to the Lord; all the weights of the bag are His concern. It is an abomination for kings to commit wickedness, for a throne is established on righteousness. Righteous lips are the delight of kings, and he who speaks right is loved. The wrath of a king is as messengers of death, but wise man will appease it. In the light of a king’s face is life, and favor is like a cloud with the spring rain. How much better it is to get wisdom than gold, and to get understanding is to be chosen above silver. The highway of the upright is to depart from evil; he who watches his way preserves his life. Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before stumbling. It is better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud. He who gives attention to the word shall find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord, The wise in heart will be called discerning, and sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness. Understanding is a fountain of life to him who has it, but the discipline of fools is folly. The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds persuasiveness to his lips. Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. A workers appetite works for him, for his hunger urges him on. A worthless man digs up evil, while his words are a scorching fire. A perverse man spreads strife, and a slanderer separates intimate friends. A man of violence entices his neighbor, and leads him away that is not good. He who winks his eyes does so to devise perverse things; he who compresses his lips brings evil to pass. A gray head is a crown of glory; it is found in the way of righteousness. He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit, than he who captures a city. The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the Lord.

Chapter 22:1-29
A good name is to be more desired than great riches, favor is better than gold or silver. The rich and the poor have a common bond, The Lord is the maker of them all. The prudent sees the evil and hides himself, but the naive go on, and are punished for it. The reward of humility and the fear of the LORD, are riches, honor, and life. Thorns and snares are in the way of the perverse, he who guards himself will be far from them. Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it. The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower becomes the lender’s slave. He who sows iniquity will reap vanity, and the rod of his fury will perish. He who is generous will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor. Drive out a scoffer, and contention will go out, even strife and dishonor will cease. He who loves purity of heart and whose speech is gracious, the king is his friend. The eyes of the Lord preserve knowledge, but He overthrows the words of the treacherous man. The sluggard says, there is a lion outside, I shall be slain in the streets! The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit; he who is cursed of the Lord will fall into it. Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of discipline will remove it far from Him. He who oppresses the poor to make much for himself, or who gives to the rich, will only come to poverty. Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, and apply your mind to my knowledge; For if will be pleasant if you keep them within you, that they may be ready on your lips. So that your trust may be in the Lord, I have taught you today, even you. Have I not written to you excellent things of counsels and knowledge, to make you know the certainty of the words of truth that you may correctly answer to Him who sent you? Do not rob the poor because he is poor, or crush the afflicted at the gate; For the Lord will plead their case, and take the life of those who rob them. Do not associate with a man given to anger; or go with a hot-tempered man, lest you learn his ways, and find a snare for yourself. Do not be among those who give pledges, among those who become sureties for debts. If you have nothing with which to pay, why should he take your bed from under you? Do not move the ancient boundary which your father have set. Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.

Hebrews 4:1-16

Therefore, let us fear lest, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it. For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also, but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by the faith in those who heard. For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, “As I saw in My wrath, they shall not enter My rest.” Although His works were finished from the foundation of the world. For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day, “God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; and again in this passage, they shall not enter My rest.” Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience. He again fixes a certain day, “Today,” saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before. “Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts.” For if Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. There remains therefore a Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from His works, as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall through following the example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword, and the piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in all things as we, yet without sin. Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.

James 2:1 My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with the attitude of personal favoritism.

2 Peter 3:8-15

But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is a thousand years, and a thousand years is one day. The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, on account of which the heavens will be destroyed by burning, and the elements will melt with intense heat! But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless. and regard the patience of our Lord to be salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you.

God is not the God of only the Whites, nor the Blacks, the Arabs, the Asians, the Indians, or any other nationality. God was creator, and after He destroyed the evil people in the flood, after a while everybody settled on the plain, in the land of Shinar. There they built a city, these people came from the family of Noah, his three sons, Japheth, Ham and Shem. They grew very large, they all used the same language. They made bricks, used tar for mortar. They even built a tower to reach to heaven. When God and Christ came down to look at the city and the tower of Babel and saw all that they had accomplished, and said we will confuse their language, and scattered them over the face of the earth. Genesis 9,10. Many were scattered to Africa, Europe, and the middle east. So God and Christ is the God of those who believe in Him, regardless of the color of ones skin. Since God is creator He has no nationality, God is not the God of only the Whites, nor the Blacks, the Arabs, the Asians, the Indians, or any other nationality. Since God is creator He has no nationality. God is creating something new to day. He opens peoples hearts and eyes so they may see Him for who He is. He creates new believers for Himself. He creates new lives out of the old ones. creates a new outlook of life, creates new friends, and most important, He creates in us a new mind, body, and Spirit that indwells us to help us with this new life He is making for Himself. We are mortal, not eternal. God is eternal, never ending, never sleeping, watching over His creation with His tender mercies and love.

How do we blaspheme God, we say He is not creator, He is not the light of the world, He cannot save anyone, or satan is just as good as God is. This is denying God.
