Reverence Psalm 66:1-7
Shout joyfully to God, all the earth; sing the glory of His name; make His praise glorious. Say to God, How awesome are thy works! Because of the greatness of thy power, thine enemies will give feigned obedience to thee. All the earth will worship Thee, and will sing praises to Thee; they will sing praises to Thy name. Come and see the works of God, who is awesome in His deeds toward the sons of men. He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot; there let us rejoice in Him! He rules by His might forever; His eyes keep watch on the nations; let not the rebellious exalt them selves.

Keep My Commandments

John 15:10-16                                                                                                                               1. 10. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Fathers commandments, and abide in His commandments, and abide in His love. 11. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. 12. This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. 13. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. 14. You are My friends, if you do what I command you. 15. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16. You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that Whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give you. 17. This I command you, that you love one another.
John 15:10-17
In the Bible Knowledge Commentaries, I liked what they stated about verse V10. A believer is motivated by the wonder of Jesus’s love, which is patterned after God’s love. Jesus makes His love as concrete. We all know about concrete, how dense, how hard it gets, and it is very heavy and lasts for a very long time. Over a long period of time concrete does start to crumble. Anything that is made with human hands is sooner or later going to go back to dust. When our bodies go back to dust, it is not the end if you believe in Christ.
Ephesians 3:17-20 So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.
V11, Jesus says, that “My joy may be found in you,” that your joy be made full.” Jesus wants His people to be happy and joyful, this leads to becoming fruitful and telling other people about Christ. One cannot be joyless, unhappy, and be fruitful at the same time. We His people, need everything Christ wants us to have, if we are going to be His joyful disciples.
V12. We might ask our selves how was Jesus fruitful. Jesus was happy God was His Father. Jesus is fruitful because, He was following His Father’s plan for Himself and the people that would follow. They both had the same message, the Son sent you as the example for everybody to follow. Before you can be an example, you believe the same as the Father and the Son, that redemption of man is the goal of the Father and the Son. Christ was the example, we must be examples like Him, even though we are mere men, Jesus has passed His love, joy, peace and how to be fruitful to us through His word. So we can be like Jesus and proclaim redemption to men so they to can believe.
V13,14 Jesus said to follow the Fathers commands, but I have one command for you. Love one another as I have loved you. No greater love one has for another, than if you lay down your life for a friend. The thought here goes beyond what a person would lay down his life for His friends. Jesus calls us friends, would I be willing to give my life for Jesus in witnessing to others. That is exactly what Jesus did for us, He witnesses to us through His word. From that, He wants us to become examples and witnesses. This also could manifest itself in many different ways. Becoming missionaries, volunteer at shelters, food pantries, street evangelizing, make your own food and hand it out in homeless camp. Regardless of a persons wish to live or not live on the streets, a meal someone took the time to make and give would be a real treat to them. It would also make our savior happy also. When we meet resistance for helping, remember, we have an adversary, satan, who is opposed to Jesus and His work of redemption, he will try to put obstacles in the way, he will try to distract us in any way possible. Do not allow this to happen, keep helping, for it says, “Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart, but we renounce the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god if this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is in the image of God.” Jesus also says, “Submit therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you.” James 4:7
V15 Jesus says that I no longer I call you a slave, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. Jesus said that I will no longer call your slaves, but friends, for I have made known to you that all the things my father has told me, I have told you. Slaves only do what they are told, A slave is not taught to think. Jesus has given us all the information through Gods word of how we can be a slave to sin. The word slave does not fit with the word relationship with friends. Another word would be dependence upon Christ, because He said, you can do nothing, but everything through me. John 15:5
V16 Then Jesus says, you did not chose Me, but I you, and appointed you, go bear fruit and that your fruit should remain. Whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give it to you. A master would not chose a slave to be a witness to anything. But Christ choosing us and appointing us to bear fruit for Him. What Christ has done for us to show Him our gratitude in reaching out to the unsaved to get them to Christ, and be called friends and Son’s of the most High. Luke 1:32
V17 I chose you and appointed you, that you go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain. That what ever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give you. Christians grow by caring and nurturing one another. Christ wants us to enjoy Him as He has enjoyed the Father. The word joy is like to word joyful or happy. If we are joyful in both the Father and the Son, we are happy. Our frame of mind is uplifting, our destination is different, and our focus has changed from self to Christ. That will be a happy day, and one that you will never forget.
1 John 3:24 And the one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And we know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given to us.
Romans 6:15-23
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? May it never be! Do you not know what that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or obedience resulting in righteousness? But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of the flesh, For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things of death. But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This is a condition that Christ has placed on us. Christ is our friend, then Christ died for me before I professed Him. Christ wants us to notice the comparison of friends. Jesus called us friends. His life for ours. Christ was a witness for God the Father, We can be witnesses for Jesus Christ. Christs life was a reflection of His Fathers ways. If we have a friend that we die for, he had to be a good friend. This is a hard concept, that Christ gave His life for only those who would believe. Another way to look at this is Christ gave His life for the life of all men, but not all men are going to believe. Christ put a time frame around a man and salvation, that time frame is a mans life. You hear people tell you that the average life of a man is 70 years. But how many people die at birth, how many are killed by accidents, how many die of diseases, my point is that you don’t know how long one has. The proper time for man is when you hear Gods word, Jesus says, this is the day of salvation. You may not get another chance. 2 Corinthians 6:2 And if a man rejects salvation from Jesus Christ, man cannot blame God for his decision not accept Christ as savior.

The world hates Christ and Christians. John 15:18-25, John 16:33, John 10:27-30
18. If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. 19. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20. Remember the word that I said to you, a slave is not greater than his master. If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also. 21. But all these things they will do to you for My names sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me. 22. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. 23. He who hates Me hates the Father as well. 24. If I had done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well. 25. But they have done this in order that the word may be filled that is written in the law, “They hated Me without a cause.” Psalm 69:4

Do not expect the people in this world to love you because you are a christian. A-Lot of people in this day and age think that Christians are judgmental, and the people of this world do not want any kind of judgment, not even from God. Christians should judge no one, because we have the same judge in actions and deeds. Christians do not go under judgment because we have believed in Jesus Christ as savior. No one knows when Christ will visit an unbeliever, through you. there is only one judge, our Lord Jesus Christ. He knows the hearts of all men, believers and unbelievers. Let Jesus be the judge, our judgment has no weight. In Hebrews 9:27 it says, death and then the judgment. When a man dies he is judged, according to what he believes. That does not minimize the Great White throne judgment or the Lambs Book of life. What judgment does not deal with is the rewards people have, believers and unbelievers. Unbelievers have different degrees of pain and suffering depending upon what they have done good or bad. You can either help some body in pain and suffering by not having a pretense of judgment in your tone of voice or mannerism.
John 7:7 The World cannot hate you; but it hates Me because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil.
