Reverence and Praise
Psalm 34:1-3 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall be continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; the humble shall hear it and rejoice. O magnify the LORD with me, ad let us exalt His name together.

What is the theme of Matthew chapter 5-6-7.

Drawing a comparison of how one should live and using the religious leaders as an example of what not to do, and their folly pertaining to the laws of God and the love and compassion of God and how the religious leaders did not want God as a ruler over them. They were hostile to the things of God. They did not like the thought that Jesus was saying He is the Son of God. They knew what that meant. They knew that Jesus was making Himself equal to God, and they thought that was blasphemy. He was teaching the people by using the religious leaders as an example, while at the same time, calling all of them hypocrites, talking to the religious leaders and telling them what would happen to them if they continued governing in the manner they are now. Jesus said, you will receive the same judgement in the same way as you judge. Christ was always pointing out to the people how they swindled the people of Israel, how they cheated God by their self endowed positions of authority. They believed they had more authority than God Himself. In the way they (Religious leaders of Israel) responded they would not give one inch to God or Christ. That is the reason they wanted to kill Christ, because Jesus was turning the people away from them, and to Himself and God the Father. Christ was giving the people a clear direction for living their lives.

Matthew 7:1-29
By whose standard do you want to judged 7:1-6

Do not judge lest you be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. And why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, Let me take the speck our of your eye, and behold, the log is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.  Here we have the continued teaching of Jesus to the same people that were in chapter 5 and 6. The five groups of people that attacked Jesus were the Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes, High Priests, Sanhedrin. Here Jesus picks up where He left off In Chapter 6. They would confront Christ time and again and would go away mad because they could not catch Christ in any lie or bad deed. Christ is addressing the religious leaders and the crowd. Christ is addressing religious leaders faults. And while they judge people, they will be judged in the same manner. Jesus is relating that a speck of dust is nothing, when you have log in your own eye, it can block your vision and be blinded by it. They did not look at their faults the same way Jesus did. So, there was conflict between them and Jesus. This is the base of all the problems. Even the many miracles Jesus performed, instead of saying, these miracles could not be done by ordinary man, so He must be God’s Son, they chose the route to deny any evidence that He could be the Son of God. The Pharisees were judging Christ by their own standard. Pigs and dogs were not liked in that culture. That is the reason you should not throw your pearls before swine. You should not cast what is holy to something that is unholy. If you put what is holy to you before unholy people, they will destroy what you think as holy, and then because of your faith kill you. Unholy men will always be on the losing end of an argument with God about, truth, righteousness and holiness.
Judging Matthew 7:1-6
1. Far be it from Me to do such a thing, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from Me! Shall not the judge of all the earth deal justly? 2. “So you shall come to the Leviticul priest, or judge who is in office in those days, and you shall inquire of them, and will declare to you the verdict in the case. And the man who acts presumptuously by not listening to the priest who stands there to serve the Lord your God, nor to the judge, that man shall die; thus you shall purge the evil from Israel. 3. Yet you say, the way of the Lord is not right. O house of Israel, I will judge each of you according to his ways. 4. And I (God) said, Hear now, heads of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel, is it not for you to know justice? You who hate good and love evil, who tear off their skin from them and their flesh from their bones, and who eat the flesh of the people, break their bones, and chop them up as for the pot and as meat in a kettle. Then they shall cry out to the Lord, but He will not answer them. Instead, He will hide His face from them at that time, because they have practiced evil deeds. V11. Her leaders pronounce judgment for a bribe, her priests instruct for a price, and her prophets divine for money. Yet they lean on the Lord saying, “Is not the Lord in our midst? Calamity will not come upon us,” 5. I (Jesus) can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgement is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent me. 6. “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgement.” 7. “You people (Religious leaders) judge according to the flesh; I am not judging anyone, But even if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone in it, but I and He who sent Me.” 8. Because He fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead.” 9. “Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God.” 10. For what have I (Paul) to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves. 11. To the general assembly and the church of the first-born who is enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous men made perfect.”

Judged:
1. The wicked spies upon the righteous, ans seeks to kill him. The Lord will not leave him in his hand, or let the condemned when he is judged. 2. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is appraised by no man. 3. Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts. 4. But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord in order that we may not be condemned along with the world. 5. But is all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an un-gifted man enters, he is judged by all, he is called to account by all; the secrets of his heart, are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you. 6. And the nations were enraged, and Thy wrath came, and the time came for the dead to be judged, and the time to give their reward to thy bond-servants the prophets and the saints and to those who fear Thy name, the small and the great , and to destroy the earth. 7. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.
This is the last judgment of God. This is the Great White Throne Judgment, where all the people who have never believed in God go through. In this book of God’s, He will show each person what their deeds were and then their judgment is carried out. Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. Any body’s name not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. This is the place that satan is also thrown, and there is weeping and the gnashing of teeth. Gnashing your teeth means a literal grinding of your teeth together, It can also mean when you bite down you are in pain, anguish or anger. Those people who do not have any faith will be in anger because the end has come and God is putting the world back under His control, and rewarding those who believe.

Ask, Given,/Seek, Find,/Knock, Opened   Matthew 7:7-11, Luke 6:24
Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be given to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it shall be opened. Or what man is there among you, when his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he ask for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

Ask:
1. The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me (Jesus), because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has set Me to proclaim release to the captive, and recovery of the sight to the blind, to set those who are down-trodden, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.” 2. “Ask Me, and I will surely give the nations as thine inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as thy possession. 3. “Indeed ask now concerning the former days which were before you, since the day that God created man on the earth, and inquire from one end of the heavens to the other. Has anything been done like this great thing, or has anything been heard like it? 4. “Truly I say to you, whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” 5. “And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.” 6. Even now I know that whatever you ask of God, God will give you.” 7. “And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

Given:
8. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.” 9. But when they deliver you up, do not become anxious about how or what you will speak; for it shall be given you in that hour what you shall speak.” 10. And He answered and said to them, to you it has been given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but to them it has not been granted.” The them, are the five religious groups that are trying to keep the power and the right to control all of the religious life of the Jewish people. The religious leaders are trying to get the people to believe that Jesus is a fraud and will lie call names to hold onto that power that they think they have. But, what they don’t know is Christ will allow them through their selfish acts to bring to pass what He came to accomplish, His life, for the life of all man kind, if they want to believe. In 70 AD, the religious leaders lost, because the Romans invaded Jerusalem and burnt the temple and pulled it down. 11. “but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. And from everyone who has been much shall much be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more. 12. And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that of all that He has given to Me I lose nothing, but raise it up on the last day. 13. For the words which thou gavest Me I have given to them; and they received them, and truly understood that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou didst send Me. I ask on behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom thou hast given Me; for they are thine. 14. And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved. 15. And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. 16. For through the grace given to me I say to every man among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgement, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith. 17. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things freely give to us by God. 18. But the scripture has shut up all men under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 19. For God has not given us a Spirit of timidity, but power ad love and discipline. 20. Seeing that His divine power has given to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has given to us His precious and magnificent promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.

Seek/Find

Seek
1. But if, while seeking to be justified in Christ, we ourselves have also been found sinners, is Christ then a minister of sin? May it never be. 2. But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search with all your heart and all your soul. 3. When thou didst say, Seek My face, my heart said to thee, thy face O Lord, I shall seek. 4. Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near. 5. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with your whole heart. 6. If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 7. As it is written, There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God; all have turned aside, together they have become useless; there is none who does good, there is not even one. 8. For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.

And He made from one, every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they should seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each of us; for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your poets have said, “for we also are His offspring”. 10. Knock and opened

Knocked
People make a commitment to Jesus, but not from the heart, it is a mental exercise. It is not the same as a definite declaration of acceptance. Luke 13:25-27 “Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, Lord open up to us! Then He will answer and say to you, I do not know where you are from. Then you will begin to say, we ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets; and He will say, I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from Me all you evildoers.” There is a huge difference in eating and drinking and listening to someone in the streets, and then after the event is over, you disregard all the information, and you go on like it had no meaning for life. Then when one sees the end is coming quickly to a close, they want to be close to Jesus, because now Jesus is a benefit to them. They have gone through life without giving Christ a second thought. Revelation 3:15,16 Jesus says, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot, I would that you were cold or hot. So because you are luke warm, and neither hot or cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.”
Opened:
1. Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped. 2. On that day your mouth will be opened to him who escaped, and you will speak and be dumb no longer, thus you will be a sign to them, and they will know that I am the Lord. There were 2 blind men following Jesus one day. 3. Then He touched their eyes, saying, “be it done to you according to your faith.” And their eyes were opened. And Jesus sternly warned them, saying, “see here, let no one know about this!” But they went out, and spread the news about Him in all the land. 4. After Christ’s resurrection, two of His companions were traveling to Emmaus. Jesus came up to them, and they did not know who He was. Then He explained to them the things concerning Himself in all of Scriptures. After traveling some distance, they turned into the village where they were going to stay the night. And it came about that when they had reclined at the table with them, He took the bread and blessed it, and breaking it, He began giving it to them. And their eyes were opened and they recognized Him, and He vanished from their sight. And they said to one another, “were not our hearts burning within us while He was speaking to us on the road, while He was explaining the scriptures to us. 5. And Jesus stopped and called them and said, What do you want me to do for you? They said to Him, Lord we want our eyes to be opened. And Jesus , moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him. Stephan was witnessing in the Temple to the Jewish people. He was going through the Old Testament, God in creation and Moses, the Prophets, tabernacle in the desert, That you who are a stiff necked people, are resisting the Holy Spirit. Then they became incensed when Stephen said while looking up to heaven, And behold he said, 6 “Behold, I see the heavens opened up and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” They rushed him, threw him out of the temple and stoned him to death. 7. And from there(Attalia) they sailed to Antioch, from which they had been commanded to the grace of God for the work that they had accomplish. And when they had arrived and gathered the church together, they began to report all things that God had done with them and how He had opened a door of faith to the gentiles. 8. And a certain woman named Lydia from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple fabrics, a worshiper of God, was listening; and the Lord opened her heart to respond to the things spoken by Paul. 9. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him whom we have to do. 10. And the Temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a great hailstorm. 11. And I saw heaven opened; ad behold, a white horse, and He who sat upon it is called faithful and true; and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. 13. Behold I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door , I will come into him, and will dine with him, and he with Me.

Your treatment of others Matthew 7:12

Therefore, however you want people to treat you, so treat them, for this is the Law, and the Prophets.
Two gates of Life Matthew 7:13-14, Luke 13:24
Many are those who enter by it. For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it. Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and Murder, robbery, adultery, lying, stealing, being a false witness, unjust change, cheating, all of these are going on the broad road. Doing what is good in Christ, in your life, looking to do good to others.
False and True Teaching Matthew 7:15-20, Luke 6:43-45
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. (deeds) Grapes are not gathered from bushes, or figs from thistles, are they? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit; but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit,no can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into a fire. So then, you shall know them be their fruits.
Which way into Kingdom of God Matthew 7:21-23
Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Many shall say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles? And then I will declare to them, I never knew you, DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.
You cannot practice any type of evil that takes away from God’s truth, Righteousness, and Holiness and expect to get into heaven.
Parable of the builders Matthew 7:24-27, Luke 6:47-49
Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon a rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock. And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not ack upon them, will be like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst that house; and it fell, and great was its fall.
The multitudes were amazed at His teaching, for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.

This ends the Sermon on the Mount, in Matthew chapter 5,6,7.
