Begin a New Year- How to walk daily with the Lord.    Article 15     12-29-2016

I had said in a sentence in article 14, Essentials of the Christian Faith. That all you had to believe was that God exists. That does not get you into heaven. Now you have to ask Him into your life as Savior. Then when you start to read He will start to show you the truth of His Word. I remember just after I had rededicated my life to Him, I asked Him to be my teacher as I read His Word. I wanted Him to teach me what He wanted me to know at the time I was reading. I can say He has been faithful to my request.
In another article, I was talking about creation and the animal kingdom that God had created. I said that God created them basically to eat, sleep and mate to keep the species alive. Animals make good companions, but they cannot carry on a conversation with you. The female brings forth the young, nurses them, brings food and nurishment to grow. The young are grown and gone from anywhere between 6 months and two years. There is very little bonding between the young and the parents before they are put out to fend for themselves. In contrast, the human race, a mother brings a baby into the world, and the family gathers around to help, but there is a lot of bonding time between the baby and the mother and father and family. Is it fair to say that there are birth marks on the child from the parents. This could be in the human realm and the spiritual realm in how and what and how we teach the children growing up. It takes a year before the baby begins to walk. Their is a lot of parenting and teaching that child until the young adult either graduates from high school and goes to college, or goes into a profession. Either way, that child is in the parents care from 16 to 18 years. The baby often takes on the traits of their parents, and believes in many of the same things many times. Do Christians have birth marks from God in His Word. They are belief in the Christ in scripture, A life of obedience to His spoken words, be Christ-like in holiness and righteouness, acknowledge the work of the Holy Spirit in a Christian’s life, and have a life of brotherly love for all believers regardless of nationality. Christ has said, there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave or free. In other words, we are all the same inside if we believe.
Just think about this, everyone comes to Christ at different ages. Both start from the same place. Not knowing anything but a small snipit of a sermon or an idea that somebody put out that you heard, and something clicked in your mind. There is only one place to really learn about God, that is His Word. To get to know Him, you have to spend time with Him. Starting out you are a babe in Christ. You want the basics of your new faith. The more you know the more comfortable you are with God. Think how Mother and child bond because of the time spent with each other, and they get to know each other. The longer you are a Christian, Christ becomes more important and familier. You move from what God calls milk of the Word, and He wants you to move to the meatier issues of His Word. Knowing God is a life long learning process. Bonding leads into a relationship with the creator of the world. How great is that. To think about our creator that cares so much that He wants to talk to us all. One might say, we have an open mike to Christ our Savior, any time, anywhere. Christ is taking my problems, and working with me, at the same time He is retraining my thinking to His thinking. Just as the child you raised and let go of, now you are the a child of God, and He is directing your mind, heart and soul into a completely different person and direction. As you nurtured your child, Christ wants to nurture you, talk to you and guide you along a new path that you have started on. To keep the changes going in the right directions, a good church will help, find somebody a little older than you to help your growth pattern going, and, Read, Read, Read. And let any criticism go and say thank you Jesus, that you came into my life, that they see your changed life. If you will give God some of your extra time that you have, you will see amazing changes in your life. In your beginning walk you have to learn how to trust, obey, and listen. It is at the beginning of your walk with Christ that it is so important. You may become discouraged for some reason, and that will lead you to question your faith and God, because you’re going through a hard time. Sometimes we come to the Lord because of our problems. I thought my problems would go away when I became a Christian. They didn’t, and what you have to learn, the Lord wants us to meet the problems and work through them with His help, now, rather than later. It may save other problems from happening later.
God will want Christ to start feeding you the meat of the Word, and start learning harder concepts that only Christ can teach you. Jesus wants you to look to Him for your needs and growth to a greater understanding of your life in Christ. Just as you wanted that child to be attentive to you, as the child grew, now Christ wants you to be attentive to Him. He knows you have to work, raise kids, be engaged with the family, have hobbies that will take alot of your time. But Christ says come to me, and I will give you rest. Christ wants you to know that you are supposed to look at Him for your needs and not yourself. Don’t get me wrong, you have a part to play by going about your everyday tasks, but now with a new outlook and help. He will add a whole new dimension to your life. All the changes that are going on will be internal and external all at the same time. When you have come to rest in the Lord, you have found out that God’s Word is true. His Word will never change, what He has said will either has come true, or will come true in the future. With God there is always a future. You will learn that God never operates on our timetable, but His. It will always be exactly what we need at the exact time we need it in our lives.
Those who accept Him as Savior and never read His Word, or pray, there will always be a doubt in their mind about God’s love, and what He will do for you. What you will be missing is the God of all creation, wanting to meet you in your favorite place where you and He can talk. You will find His gentleness and forgiveness comforting and peaceful, you will realize that you do have a relationship with your maker, protector and Savior.
Who is Jesus of Nazareth? In John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He(Jesus) was in the beginning with God. All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotton from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 10:30 I and the Father are one. John 10:11 I am the Good Shepherd; the Good Shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. John 10:9 Jesus said “I am the door; if anyone enters through me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”
In Matthrw 28:18 Jesus says “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth.” Why does He have all authority? God came to earth in the form of the baby Jesus. So He would grow up among men so they would see how He acted towards men, what He taught was from God, not from religious leaders that took advantage of the people. Jesus taught God’s principles, that we are to act like God, and believe that God’s Word is true and it describes God’s heart for all people and the value that He places on each person.
