Why do we need a Savior Article 9 3 of 3

Reverence  Psalm 23:1-6The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.  He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.  He restores my soul; He guides in the paths of righteousness for His name sake.  Thy rod and they staff, they comfort me.  Thou dost prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;  Thou hast anointed my head with oil; mu cup overflows.  Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Jeremiah 17:9  The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?  kjv

How many men take retrospect of their life.  How many people take a hard look at themselves or their lives to try to improve them.  With no retrospect, people just move on to the next part of life.  After a while this starts being troublesome, they make a few changes, and then they go on again in their way of life.  Their life keeps going around and around with no meaning and little guidance or retrospect, the wheel just keeps turning with no meaning.  In the case of Israel that is what they did.  They would get tired of following God, so they would take up the baals, ashterophs, and any other idol made of silver or gold.  The Philistines had dagon, the surrounding countries had molech, that they worshiped.  God would only let Israel drift for so long before He would put them into captivity for a while.  Then they would see the errors of their ways and cry out to God for deliverance and restoration.  Then they would ask God for forgiveness, He would forgive  and put them  back into the land.  God said, “I search the heart, I test the mind, even give to each man according to his ways”.  Jeremiah 17:10

Why did God decide many centuries before God brought Israel out of Egypt, to give the land of the Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and the Jebusites.  God said, ” that I will completely destroy them, you shall not worship their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their deeds, but you shall utterly overthrow them and break down their sacred pillars to pieces”..  Exodus 23:23-24   Leviticus 18:21 God says, “Neither shall you give any of your offspring to offer to molech, nor shall you profane the name of God, I am the Lord.  I will set my face against that man and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given some of his offspring to molech, so as to defile My sanctuary and profane My holy name”.  Leviticus 20:31, Dueteronomy 12:31,  “You shall not behave thus toward the Lord your God, for every abominable act which the Lord hates, they have done for their gods; for they even burn sons and daughters in the fire to their gods”.  (molech)

In judges there is a repeated phrase.  “In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.”  People sin, the same since the beginning of time, man has gone after his own ways.  century after century, people keep doing the same sins.  Billy Graham said during one of his crusades, there are no new sins, just new sinners.  Since man was put on the earth, he has been sinning, approximately 6000 years of man committing  the same sin century after century.  Now you understand why man needs a savior.  It was never intended for man to be a sinner, but the human heart and mind has its disorders.  As you can see from creation that God had done everything in a proper order.  Israel was to follow the commands of God.  If they follow them it meant blessings, if they did not follow them, they became cursed.  “That which has been is that which will be, and that which has been done is that which shall be done.  So, there is nothing new under the sun”.  Ecclesiastes 1:9   God wanted Israel to look at life the way He did.  God looks at life as each one being precious.  Each life is unique to God.  God has no room for the destruction of His creation, especially kids, and children.  Only God holds in Him the days of life for each individual, every life is precious to Him and every life has a purpose.  And if man decides to cut short a life, eventually, that person will answer to God for his own action.  God says of the devil, “The thief comes only to steal and kill, and destroy;  I came that they might have life, and have it more abundantly”.  John 10:10

I Corinthians 14:33 “For God is not the author of confusion, but peace, as in all the churches of the saints”.  KJV

I Corinthians 14:40  “But let all things be done properly and in an orderly manner”.  NASB

Israel from the beginning, after leaving Egypt, began their lust for another God after Moses went up the top of Mount Sinai to get the ten commandments.  God wants us to believe Him, He is the only one qualified to determine what a person goes through, what my life will be in Him, and He knows what your life will be without Him as well.  If you do not believe, you will still stand before God at the Great White Throne judgement. There you will receive your punishment for the deeds you have done in the flesh, good and bad.  He knows what is best for us, He holds all of life’s questions and even the answers to the question that we have for Him.  He has a solution to our every question, and problem, trial of life,and even in death,  if we believe in Christ He says He has a way of escape for us.  My wife one time painted a picture for me in my mind.  That picture was a parade , but there was a wood fence between me and the parade, the only way I could see the parade was to look through a knot hole in the fence.  The knothole limited my view of the parade.  I knew there was more to the parade than I could see.  The fence placed a limitation on me.  We can only see what is in front of us, God sees the whole parade.  The same in our life, we only see what is happening know, and what we have done in the past.  But, God has seen our whole life before we were ever born.  This is the advantage of believing in the lord.  As we seek his wisdom for our lives, we are drawing upon what He already knows about us, to help guide us.

In one of my previous paragraphs, God was not happy with the inhabitants of the land because they sacrificed their children to molech, and other deities.  The USA has not offered  their children to molech, but offered their children for the desire of sex, and expediency and do away with the baby.  Since Rowe vs Wade in 1973, there has been 57,762,000 million babies aborted.  That again, is 57 million lives lost due to abortion.  If God gave the Israelite’s,  the six cities because they sacrificed their children, what price will America pay for this atrocity.  In the state of California there are 38,800,000 million people that live in the entire state of California.  In the state of Florida there are 20,280,000 million people.  About the entire states of California and Florida are equal to the deaths of babies due to abortion.  There have been 47,000, thousand woman loose their lives because an abortion went bad some where along the way.  We are a society that had come to worship death more than life.  This is the lack of conscience and no fear of God.  When God has had enough, He will act.  It will be without warning.  They are killing their babies for something they worship more than God.

Psalm 135:15-18  “The idols of the nations are but silver and gold, the work of man’s hands.  They have mouths, but they do not speak, they have eyes, but they do not see; they have ears, but they do not hear, not is there any breath at all in their mouths, those who make them will be like them, yes everyone who trusts in them”.  Compare this to God, He is invisible, but you can know Him, you know He is there.  He says that He can see you, hears you when you cry, sees if you are in trouble.  He will answer your prayers.

This is the reason we need a savior.  Are you leaving Jesus out of your life for any particular reason?  Would you like to make a new start in your life?  After all, it is between Just Jesus and You.
